ORIENTATION TO LIONISM

The Sub-District and Multiple District

What is a “sub-district” ?

A sub-district is comprised of at least 35 clubs having a combined total of at least 1,250 members.

What is a “Multiple District” ?

A “Multiple District” is a defined territory comprised of two or more Sub-Districts.

When a district becomes too large, it is sub-divided along geographical lines to form two or more sub-districts. Each sub-district is identified by its own number and/or letter. The governors of the sub-districts constitute a Council of Governors for the Multiple District. Each year at the Multiple District 39 convention, a past district governor is elected to serve as “Council Chairman”. A Council Chairman is usually elected alternately from District 39-W (western Idaho and eastern Oregon) and 39-E (east Idaho).
